Motorcycles and the Art of Product Design

Abstract

In today's hyper-competitive business environment it is increasingly more difficult to differentiate products and success is driven by much more than features, innovation, cost, or any other single factor. Success is driven by the total experience delivered to the user at every touch point throughout the product life-span. It is hard to think about a more intimate experience between a user and a product than the experience of riding a motorcycle and there is no aspect of product design and development that is not reflected in motorcycles. The lessons that can be learned, the analogies and metaphors, are extremely rich and insightful, even to those who never got close to a machine on two (or three) wheels. Shimon can speak about it empathically and passionately both as a motorcyclist and as a product development expert.

The presentation is highly visual, rich, and stimulating and has received very enthusiastic reviews. Among the topics discussed are:

Shimon Shmueli - Bio
