Shimon Shmueli, Founder"Psi-shaped top(Ѱ) with feet on the ground" is how Shimon often refers to his expertise in integrating Marketing, Design and Engineering, combined with his passion in bringing to market products and services that are viable, desirable, and that connect with users at all touch points. Before founding Touch360, Shimon founded and served as CTO at KeyNetica, a company that pioneered the use of the USB Flash Drive as a mobile platform. Prior to that he was with IBM, where he held leadership positions in marketing, division-level business/technology strategies, and new product development and design. His most recent roles at IBM were worldwide marketing segment manager for PC products, worldwide product manager for the ThinkPad line of consumer notebooks and accessories, and leading the development of new mobile platforms. While at IBM Shimon led innovations in many areas - among them were the creation of the USB Flash Drive product category, the UltraPort, home servers and media center, and integration of services and products. He was a member of corporate task forces in the areas of competitive strategies, product design, and e-commerce. Shimon holds BSEE degree from the Technion, MSEE degree from NYU, MBA from Wake Forest University, and MID degree from North Carolina State University College of Design. He is currently an adjunct professor with the Engineering & Technology Management graduate program at Portland State University where he teaches Technology Marketing and User-Centered Innovation/Design Thinking. Shimon has been a speaker and mentor in various forums, among them Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Taiwan Design Center, Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, Virginia Tech School of Architecture & Design, ICSID/IDSA World Design Congress, and others. |
